A little bit about us, and where it all came from.
Michael was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama so lets go ahead and just say it, ROLL TIDE! Most of his family still lives there today. He spent 13 years in law enforcement in Desoto county and loved every minute of it. He will always be a Police Officer at heart.
Emily grew up in Tate county on a farm and could drive a tractor before a car. She showed cows in 4H and played the piano in church. Helping others was always something she truly enjoyed and got a lot of satisfaction in doing so it was only natural that she went to nursing school upon graduating high school. She is still nursing today and feels blessed far more by her patients and their families than she ever imagined!
They have 2 small children, 7 year old Madison who is a mini-Emily and has already said she wants to run the store one day, and 2 year old John Thomas, who definitely keeps them on their feet. Two beautiful, healthy children! A furniture store is something that they have dreamed of for the past 10 years, but never thought possible. With both set in their careers, and 2 small children, they couldn't imagine starting a business and besides, who would run it?
After multiple meetings, years apart, with drawing up business plan after business plan, and LOTS of prayers, they finally got the word from everyone to go for it! We must say that decorating has been a passion of Emily's all of her life and she feels like time stops when she is in her element and able to decorate. She loves her job as a nurse but have always had this feeling that there was something else God had out there for her to do.
Our ultimate hope is that we can be a beacon of light in this dark world and shine a light for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! As for now, Michael will be running the shop most days with Emily continuing to be a nurse and mommy full time.
